Geographic Information Systems Subject regulations

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is widely used by industry because it is a framework for storing, mapping and analysing information on land and water. Physical and human geography students, as well as ecology and population study students, are quick to identify the importance of GIS knowledge for employment.

GIS is available as a minor.

To complete a minor in GIS, students must complete 60 points, including 15 points from COMPX101, COMPX102, DATAX111, DATAX121 or DATAX221; 30 points from EARTH251, GEOGY228, POPST201 or ENVPL309; and GEOGY328.
