Prizes for Engineering
Society of Materials New Zealand Inc (SMNZI) Prize
The Society of Materials New Zealand Incorporated (SMNZI) (formerly EMG group of IPENZ) awards a first prize and a second prize ($250 and $150 respectively) annually to materials students from The University of Waikato.
With the introduction of the materials & process engineering programme in the Bachelor of Engineering and other materials papers, the criteria have been modified to include all students who have completed the materials papers ENMP211, ENMP311, ENMP214 and ENMP215.
Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust Engineering Prize
The prize will be awarded annually to the most outstanding woman student in their third year of study towards an engineering degree The Prize was established in 2012 by the Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust.
Bruce Liley Prize in Physics
The Bruce Liley Prize in Physics awards two prizes annually. One to the top student in ENGEN110 - Engineering Mechanics and one to the top student in ENGEN111 - Electricity for Engineers.
