Professor Chris Ryan
Professor Chris Ryan currently serves as the Director of the BUU Asia–New Zealand Tourism Research Unit. Chris Ryan was editor of the internationally renowned tourism journal Tourism Management for 25 years and was the founding editor of Tourism Management Perspectives.
Currently he is the editor of Tourism Critiques: Practice and Theory, published by Beijing Union University. As a consultant, he has provided expert advice for the APEC Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the New Zealand government, and various tourism enterprises and related organisations. As a researcher he has published over 300 journal articles and 15 books.

Associate Professor Zhang (Nancy) Xiaoyu
Zhang Xiaoyu is the Associate Director of the BUU Asia-New Zealand Tourism Research Unit and an Associate Professor at the College of Tourism, Beijing Union University. She is also the director of Tourism Critiques: Practice and Theory office, where she also serves as an associate editor. She is our expert advisor in the field of film tourism.
She teaches at Beijing Union University and conducted in-depth research on Hobbiton in New Zealand during her PhD studies at the University of Waikato. As a devoted reader of Cao Xueqin’s novel Dream of the Red Mansions, she has carried out research at Beijing’s Grand View Garden, the filming location of the Dream of the Red Mansions TV series, for which she received an academic award.
Currently, Zhang Xiaoyu focuses on research related to China’s film tourism industry, with a particular emphasis on film-themed parks in Beijing and across the country, especially Universal Studios Beijing. Her research integrates culture, tourism, and the film industry, offering unique academic perspectives and practical insights into the field of film tourism.
张晓宇副教授
张晓宇是 BUU 亚洲-新西兰旅游研究中心副主任,现任北京联合大学旅游学院副教授、Tourism Critiques: Practice and Theory 期刊编辑部主任,同时担任该期刊副主编。她是我们在影视旅游领域的专业顾问。她在北京联合大学授课,并在攻读怀卡托大学博士学位期间对新西兰的霍比特村进行了深入研究。作为曹雪芹小说《红楼梦》的忠实读者,她曾在北京大观园(电视剧《红楼梦》的拍摄地)开展相关研究,并凭借该研究获得荣誉。目前,张晓宇正专注于中国影视旅游产业的研究,同时关注北京及全国各地的电影主题公园,特别是北京环球影城的相关发展。她的研究结合了文化、旅游与影视产业,为影视旅游领域提供了独特的学术视角和实践洞见。
Professor Ma Xiaolong
Professor Ma Xiaolong is a professor and PhD supervisor at the School of Tourism and Service, Nankai University. He has extensive academic expertise and practical experience in tourism planning and geographic research.
He currently serves as a member of the National Tourism Standardization Technical Committee, an expert member of the China ICOMOS (Chinese Committee for the Conservation of Monuments and Sites), an expert member of the Geotourism Branch of the China Tourism Association, a member of the Tourism Geography Committee of the Geographical Society of China, and an expert member of the China Tourist Attractions Association.
Additionally, he is an editorial board member of several journals including Geography and Geo-Information Science and Tourism Forum. Professor Ma has led and participated in the development of over 100 tourism master plans, tourism attraction regulatory plans, and various specialized tourism plans across nearly 30 provincial-level administrative regions in China. His work has provided crucial theoretical support and practical guidance for the scientific development and sustainable growth of local tourism industries.
马晓龙 教授
马晓龙教授是南开大学旅游与服务学院教授、博士生导师,在旅游规划与地理研究领域具有深厚的学术造诣和丰富的实践经验。现任全国旅游标准化技术委员会委员、中国古迹遗址保护协会专家委员、中国旅游协会地学旅游分会专家委员、中国地理学会旅游地理专业委员会委员、中国旅游景区协会专家委员。同时,他担任国际知名期刊 Tourism Management 及《地理与地理信息科学》《旅游论坛》等学术期刊的编委,并主持过多项国家级和省部级科研项目。在旅游规划与管理实践方面,马晓龙教授主持并参与编制了全国近30个省级行政区的百余项旅游发展总体规划、旅游景区控制性规划及各类旅游专项规划,为地方旅游产业的科学发展和可持续建设提供了重要的理论支撑和实践指导。
Professor Zhang Chaozhi
Dr. Zhang Chaozhi is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Tourism at Fudan University, who has long been dedicated to research on heritage tourism and destination development. As the UNESCO Chair holder on Sustainable Tourism at UNESCO Designated Sites, Professor Zhang serves as an expert committee member for international institutions including the World Economic Forum, ICOMOS-ICTC , and IUCN-WCPA.
He also assumes expert and advisory roles for multiple national ministries, World Heritage site governments, and serves as associate editor or editorial board member for multiple international academic journals. He has been the PI of major and key projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, as well as multiple National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, publishing over 170 academic papers.
张朝枝教授
张朝枝教是复旦大学旅游学系特聘教授,长期致力于遗产旅游与目的地发展研究。作为联合国教科文组织世界遗产地可持续旅游教席主持人,张教授担任世界经济论坛、国际古迹遗址理事会旅游委员会(ICOMOS-ICTC)、世界自然保护联盟保护区委员会(IUCN-WCPA)等国际机构专家委员以及多个国家部委、世界遗产地政府的专家与顾问委员和多个国际学术期刊副主编、编委,主持国家社科基金重大项目、重点项目及多个国家自然科学基金项目,发表论文170余篇。
Professor Wang Lin
Professor Wang Lin is the Dean of the Hainan University–Arizona State University Joint International Tourism College and a renowned scholar in tourism research and practice. Early in her academic career, she studied English and has translated tourism books into Chinese, thereby introducing global tourism theories to the Chinese academic community.
As a specially invited expert for the Hainan provincial government, Professor Wang has provided long-term advisory services for the development of tourism on Hainan Island. By leveraging the island’s unique tropical climate, beaches, mountains, and forests, she has played a key role in advancing regional tourism planning and industrial upgrading, transforming Hainan into a globally recognized tourism hotspot, often referred to as the “Hawaii of China.”
王琳 教授
王琳教授现任海南大学—亚利桑那州立大学联合国际旅游学院院长,是旅游研究与实践领域的知名学者。早年就读英语专业,并翻译出版了国际知名旅游学者 Chris Ryan 教授的两部重要旅游专著,为中国旅游学术界引入了国际前沿理论。作为海南省政府特邀专家,王琳教授长期为海南岛的旅游发展提供顾问服务。他结合海南独特的热带气候、海滩、山脉及森林资源,推动区域旅游规划与产业升级,使海南迅速发展成为国际知名的旅游热点,被誉为“中国的夏威夷”。
Professor Cui Xiaoming
Professor Cui Xiaoming has held several key positions at Ankang University, including Deputy Director of the Department of Economics and Management, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Dean of the School of International Education, and Director of the Office of Scientific Research and Discipline Development. In December 2023, she was appointed Vice President of Ankang University.
From 2007 to 2008, she was a visiting scholar at the Waikato Management School, University of Waikato, New Zealand. Her research focuses on tourism economics, the vulnerability and resilience of socio-ecological systems, with a particular emphasis on ecotourism and sustainable urban-rural development in the Qinba Mountain region.
She has published over 40 research papers in top-tier international tourism journals including Tourism Management, Mountain Research and Human Geography. She has also authored multiple research reports and led several sub-projects under China's National Key Research and Development Program, as well as multiple provincial and ministerial-level research projects regarding regional sustainable development and ecotourism research.
崔晓明教授
崔晓明教授曾先后担任安康学院经济与管理系副主任、国际合作与交流处处长兼国际教育学院院长、科研处处长兼学科建设办公室主任。2023 年 12 月,任安康学院副校长。2007 至 2008 年间,他在新西兰怀卡托大学管理学院担任访问学者,并长期从事旅游经济、社会—生态系统脆弱性及恢复力研究。其研究重点聚焦于秦巴山区生态旅游与城乡可持续发展,在国际顶级旅游学术期刊 Tourism Management 及地理资源领域高水平科技期刊《山地学报》《人文地理》等发表论文40余篇,并撰写多部调研报告。此外,他主持多项国家重点研发计划子课题及省部级科研项目,为区域可持续发展与生态旅游研究提供了重要的理论支持和实践指导。
Professor Bao Jigang
Professor Bao Jigang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Sun Yat-sen University, and a nationally recognized high-level talent. He is currently the Director of the Tourism Development and Planning Research Center at Sun Yat-sen University, President of the Education Branch of the China Tourism Association, Deputy Director of the School of Economics and Management at Sun Yat-sen University, Director of the UNWTO Sustainable Tourism Observatories Center, a member of the UNWTO Expert Committee, a fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism (IAST), and a founding fellow of the International Association for Chinese Tourism Studies (IACTS).
He serves as the editor-in-chief of Tourism Forum, as well as the deputy editor of domestic journals such as Tourism Journal and Geographical Science, and on the editorial boards of several international journals including Annals of Tourism Research and Journal of Sustainable Tourism. Professor Bao has hosted 8 major research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Social Sciences Fund, and has published over 300 papers in renowned academic journals and more than ten academic books.
He has led various tourism development planning projects, including those for tourism investment in Western China (Southwest region), and comprehensive tourism development plans for destinations such as Hubei, Hunan, Xinjiang’s Kanas, Shangri-La, Zhuhai, Guilin, Suzhou, Xishuangbanna, Huangshan, and other well-known tourist cities. He also advocates and leads the “Azeke Plan,” which achieved poverty alleviation for the entire village of Azeke in Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
保继刚教授
保继刚是中山大学教授、博士生导师,国家级高层次人才。现任中山大学旅游发展与规划研究中心主任、中国旅游协会教育分会会长、中山大学经济与管理学部副主任、联合国世界旅游组织旅游可持续发展观测点管理与监测中心主任、联合国世界旅游组织(UNWTO)专家委员会委员、国际旅游研究院(IAST)会士、中国旅游研究国际联合会(IACTS)创院会士。担任《旅游论坛》主编,《旅游学刊》、《地理科学》等国内重要期刊副主编,Annals of Tourism Research、Journal of Sustainable Tourism 等多家国际期刊编委。主持国家自然科学和社会科学艺术类重大重点、面上、青年基金 8 项;在国内外著名学术期刊发表论文 300 多篇,出版学术著作 10 余部。曾先后主持过中国西部旅游投资规划(西南片),主持湖北省、湖南省及新疆喀纳斯、大香格里拉、珠海、桂林、苏州、西双版纳、黄山等地区及著名旅游城市的旅游发展总体规划。倡导并主持“阿者科计划”,实现云南省红河州阿者科村全村脱贫。
Professor Gu Huimin
Professor Gu Huimin, along with Professor Ryan, was jointly awarded the Excellent Research Award by the Beijing Federation of Social Sciences and the Asia Pacific Tourism Association. She has published more than ten books, including English and German editions, and has written articles for top SSCI journals such as Tourism Management, Cornell Quarterly, and the International Journal of Hospitality Management.
She holds a PhD in Economics from Renmin University of China. Professor Gu was recognized as an "Outstanding Scholar" by Professor Metin Kozak in the list of distinguished tourism and hospitality scholars published in his journal Anatolia, for her contributions to hotel education. She previously served as the Dean of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at Beijing International Studies University.
谷慧敏教授
谷慧敏教授与Ryan教授共同荣获了北京市社会科学界联合会和亚太旅游协会颁发的优秀研究奖,出版了10余本著作,包括英文和德文版,并在《旅游管理》(Tourism Management)、《康奈尔酒店季刊》(Cornell Quarterly)和《国际酒店管理杂志》(International Journal of Hospitality Management)等顶尖SSCI英文研究期刊上发表过文章。她拥有中国人民大学经济学博士学位。Metin Kozak教授在其期刊《安纳托利亚》(Anatolia)上发表的一系列杰出旅游与酒店学者名单中,因谷慧敏教授对酒店教育的贡献而认可她为“杰出学者”。她曾任北京第二外国语学院旅游与酒店管理学院院长。
Professor Xu Honggang
Professor Xu Honggang is currently the Dean of the School of Tourism at Sun Yat-sen University. She is a fellow of the International Tourism Research Institute, Chair of the Tourism Geography Professional Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, and former Co-chair of the Commission on Tourism, Leisure, and Global Change of the International Geographical Union.
She is also an expert at the UNWTO Sustainable Tourism Observatories, where she assists in monitoring world heritage sites such as Huangshan and Xidi Hongcun. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to tourism geography research, she was awarded the Roy Wolfe Award for Outstanding Achievement by the Tourism Geography Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers in 2016.
Professor Xu's research focuses on system dynamics, development economics, and sustainable tourism. She has published over 100 papers in prestigious international journals such as Tourism Geographies, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Sustainable Tourism. Her academic work provides valuable insights into the theoretical development and practical guidance of tourism studies. In 2025, Professor Xu will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Critical Tourism Studies Asia Pacific Conference.
徐红罡教授
徐红罡教授现任中山大学旅游学院院长,是国际旅游研究院会士、中国旅游地理专业委员会主任、国际地理联合会旅游休闲与全球变化专委会原联席主任。她同时担任世界旅游组织旅游可持续发展观测点管理与监测中心专家,负责协助黄山、西递宏村等世界遗产地的监测工作。为表彰她在旅游地理研究领域的突出贡献,2016年,美国地理学会旅游地理专业委员会授予她杰出成就奖(Roy Wolfe Award)。徐教授的研究方向主要涵盖系统动力学、发展经济学及旅游可持续发展等领域,已在《Tourism Geographies》《Tourism Management》《Annals of Tourism Research》和《Journal of Sustainable Tourism》等国际知名期刊上发表论文百余篇。她的学术研究为旅游学科的理论发展和实践指导提供了深刻见解。2025 年,徐教授将荣获批判性旅游研究亚太会议终身成就奖。

Associate Professor Li Ping
Her research interests focus on the impacts of tourism, particularly on heritage sites and cultural landmarks. She is also dedicated to studying the development of adventure tourism products in China and Chinese perceptions of risk.
Dr. Li earned her PhD from the University of Waikato, where she conducted over a year of field research in a Taoist village on Mount Qiyun in Anhui to observe the effects of tourism. This research laid the foundation for a significant anthropological study, and since the initial research, Dr. Li has frequently revisited the village to track its development over the years.
李萍副教授
李萍现任海南大学亚利桑那州立大学联合国际旅游学院副院长。她的研究兴趣集中在旅游的影响,特别是遗产遗址和文化名胜的影响。她还致力于研究中国冒险旅游产品的开发以及中国人的风险观念。李博士在怀卡托大学获得博士学位,并在安徽齐云山道教村进行了一年多的实地研究,观察旅游对该地区的影响。这项研究为一项重要的人类学研究奠定了基础,自研究开始以来,李博士多次访问该村,持续跟踪其发展。
Dr. Chen Zhe
Chen Zhe is a lecturer at the International School of Cultural Tourism, Hangzhou City University. He obtained his PhD in Tourism Management from the University of Waikato, New Zealand in 2022. His research interests include event digitalization, sociology of tourism and events, tourism theory construction and qualitative research. He has published academic papers in top international journals such as Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Sustainable Tourism.

Associate Professor Cora Un In, WONG
Cora Un In WONG obtained her PhD. in Tourism Management from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. With 20 years of teaching experience, Cora Un In WONG is currently the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Macao Polytechnic University, as well as an Associate Professor and a PhD supervisor. She has published some 50 papers in international journals, such as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, etc.
Cora has served as a guest editor of Journal of China Tourism Research and Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. Her research interests include cultural tourism, pilgrimage and religious tourism, tour guiding, tourism and hospitality education and heritage management. Starting in 2025, Cora Un In WONG is an Associate Editor of Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education.
黄婉妍副教授
黄婉妍毕业于新西兰怀卡托大学,获得旅遊管理哲学博士学位。具有20年的教學經驗,黃婉妍现任澳门理工大学人文与社会科学院副院长,副教授、博士生导师。她在国际期刊上,例如: Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management 等已发表50余篇论文,並曾出任国际知名学术刊物 Journal of China Tourism Research 和 Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. 的客座编辑。其研究方向为文化旅游、朝圣和宗教旅游、导游、旅遊及酒店教育和文化遗产管理。現時是Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education 的副編輯。
Professor Ren Lianping
Ren Lianping is a Professor and supervisor at the Macau University of Tourism. She obtained her doctorate in hotel and tourism management from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014. With 25 years of teaching experience, Professor Ren has worked at universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, gaining extensive expertise in teaching, research, and academic administration.
She currently serves as a member of the Tourism Management Teaching Advisory Committee for Undergraduate Universities in Guangdong Province and as a reviewer for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (Tourism and Hospitality disciplines).
She has published over 60 papers in high-impact international journals and has authored three English-language books. Additionally, she is a guest editor and editorial board member for several internationally renowned academic journals. She has recently taken up the associate editor role for Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
任连萍教授
任连萍,澳门旅游大学教授,博士生导师,2014 年毕业于香港理工大学酒店及旅游管理学院,获酒店及旅游管理学博士学位。 任教授从教25年,先后任职于中国内地、香港、澳门的高校,拥有丰富的教学、科研和管理经验,目前担任广东省本科高校旅游管理类专业教学指导委员会委员香港学术及职业资历评审局评审委员(旅游及酒店类学科)。她在高水平国际期刊上已发表 60 余篇论文,出版了3部英文著作,是多本国际知名学术刊物的客座编辑和编辑委员会委员。她目前担任国际期刊 Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management 副主编。
Research Assistant Dr. Zhang Xin
Dr. Zhang Xin graduated in 2023 from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializing in tourism geography. He is currently working at the International Journal Editorial Office of the Tourism College, Beijing Union University, and serves as a research assistant at the BUU Asia-New Zealand Tourism Research Unit. Her research interests include tourism geography, rural tourism, and urban-rural planning.

张新博士,2023 年毕业于中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所,专业旅游地理。现任职于北京联合大学旅游学院国际期刊编辑部,担任 BUU亚洲-新西兰旅游研究中心研究助理。研究方向是旅游地理、乡村旅游和城乡规划。
