Fluency and literacy in te reo Māori - Level 1 80-100% (Te reo Māori is the principal language of communication and instruction and it is expected that all students in the programme will interact freely in Māori).
Ka arohaehaehia ngā ariaa ako, whakaako raanei i te reo Māori hei reo tuatahi, tuarua ranei, nga momo aromatawai i te reo me te uu o te whakawhitinga ki te whakaako i te reo Māori hei reo tuatahi, tuarua ranei. Ka whakauruhia te huhua o ngā take ā iwi. A critical examination of theories of first and second language acquisition, learning, teaching and assessment. The application of these theories to the teaching of te reo Māori or thought te reo Māori will be explored. A range of issues relating to Māori language development will be introduced from a socio-cultural perspective.
