Assessment Research Across the Years (ARAY)
Members of the ARAY Unit undertake research into the nature and implications of assessment for students, teachers, families and whānau in early childhood settings, primary and secondary schools and tertiary contexts. Our research is underpinned by concerns for equity, improvement and social justice, and our intention to contribute to both theory, policy and practice.
Our research interests range from the impact of moment-to-moment interactions and feedback to the meaning and consequences of large-scale international assessment regimes such as TIMSS and PISA. We collaborate with teachers, school leaders, policy makers and researchers and employ a diversity of research approaches and theoretical frames.
